6:30 AM – Load up the minivan, get on the road to NYC.
6:45 AM – I’m the only one in the van who is still awake.
7:30 AM – Drop off the Florida guys at LaGuardia, return the rental car.
8:00 AM – Enjoy a breakfast at a popular donut chain that we don’t have in west Texas. Get the shakes from coffee that was so strong I had to chew it.
11:30 AM – Depart LGA for DFW. No TV screens on this flight, so it’s up to the book that I’ve almost finished, and my iPod with hardly any battery life left. It’s going to be a long four hours.
2:30 PM (time change) – Arrive in Dallas, wipe telltale drool from my chin.
3:45 PM – Arrive back in Midland, just in time to witness a huge thunderstorm.
10:00 PM – Sleep.
