Another hit to this season, "A Rockapella Holiday," combines traditional favorites with a hopping new beat.
Most of these songs exemplify an African American, pop rhythmic sound that is great to dance to and enjoy with family and friends this holiday season. Using only their voices for melody, harmony, and even instruments, their talent as well as this album, produces this fascinating innovative wonder. Not only did they add rhythm to make each song their own, the also diversified the album including songs for Jewish, Kwanza, and Christian celebrations. Putting faster beats to these songs lets people enjoy traditional songs in a fresh, new way.
With graceful classic such as "Angels We Have Heard On High," "Little Drummer Boy" and "O Little Town Of Bethlehem," they did not stop performing each of these songs with passionate pop culture. They kept the pace of "O Little Town Of Bethlehem," but with Rockapella, nothing is ever traditional! Just by adding riffs and different harmonies, the once original song turns into a glorious delight.
It is hard to pin point each song to show its' creativity; they really know how to mix things up! One of the most impressive songs would be "Ukranian Christmas Carol," a creative twist on the traditional "Carol of the Bells." Rockapella really "rocked" the rhythmic genius of this song. The whole introduction consists of just their voices acting as instruments and the range of sounds is unbelievable.
